The Earth Diary

The exact age of the earth is about 4.6 billion years old, formed at about the same time as the rest of our solar system. The oldest rocks geologists have been able to find are 3.9 billion years old.

earth b

the first life forms on earth were primitive, one-celled creatures that appeared about 3 billion years ago. That’s pretty much all there was for about the next two billion years. Then suddenly those single celled organisms began to evolve into multicellular organisms.

An Extinction Event, more commonly known as a mass extinction, is the the extinction of a large number of species within a short period of geological time. There have been 24 extinction events in all of Earth’s history – before the crab like creatures like us humans came around 200,000 years ago.

Mass extinctions always occur after a sudden, rapid, and uncontrollable change in global climate – which is obvious because only such widespread changes can kill off diverse species spread out over land and water in a short period of time. Conversely, mass extinctions could also affect the global climate as disappearance of a majority of life on Earth could upset the oxygen balance.

As photosynthesis increased, there were very few lifeforms that were able to consume enough of this new oxygen. There was nowhere for the toxic oxygen to go because there was no oxygen sink. As the oxygen content in the atmosphere and oceans increased, early life that was just forming was also dying away rapidly. This is why the Great Oxygenation Event also became the first known extinction event.

The other effect the oxygen catastrophe had was the formation of glaciers. The rise of oxygen naturally removed a lot of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, most notably methane. Oxygen lowers temperatures, which is why wooded areas are so much cooler than cities today. The saturation of oxygen in the atmosphere lowered the overall temperature to 5°C lower than today and removed the ability of the atmosphere to keep the planet warm. Temperatures started falling steeply, heralding an ice age.

Are we heading to another Mass extinction?

Lose biodiversity and the natural world including the life support systems as we know them will collapse. We depend on nature for the air we breathe, water we drink, the food and materials we use and the economy we rely on, and not least, for our health, inspiration and happiness”

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed.”

As i mentioned earlier, the crab like creatures like us Humans came around 200,000 years ago.

since and then we are constantly hurting the nature “if Man is the greatest miracle on this planet then he is the greatest problem on this too”.

“We are no longer a small world on a big planet. We are now a big world on a small planet, where we have reached a saturation point,” said Prof Johan Rockström, executive director of the Stockholm Resilience Centre.

Climate change is seen globally as a major environmental risk, and in combination with environmental degradation via chemical pollution and habitat loss, it has the potential to have a severe impact on wildlife populations, particularly in freshwater ecosystems

Global population is expected to peak around 10 or 11 billion and with care, it’s possible that we may be able to sustain a habitable planet for that many humans more or less indefinitely. We may still become extinct through climate change, disease, nuclear war or meteorite impact but humanity probably has enough foresight and resources to avoid poisoning itself to death.

“The 21st century presents humanity with a dual challenge: to maintain nature in all of its many forms and functions and to create an equitable home for people on a finite planet. The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Sustainable Development combines the economic, social and ecological dimensions necessary to sustain human society through the Anthropocene.

“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.”

I think every single day is Earth Day, Everyday is to appreciate the Mother Earth for offering and fulfilling every basic need of Mankind Food,Shelter, clothing and more…We don’t know how much Time we have remained

World creativity and innovation day

Creativity is related to ‘imagination’, but innovation is related to ‘implementation’.

The primary difference between creativity and innovation is that the former refers to conceive a fresh idea or plan, whereas the latter implies initiating something new to the market, which is not introduced earlier. You can get a better understanding of the two topics, and their difference, with the help of given article.

But Creativity and imagination these two things go hand in hand.

The quality of thinking new ideas and putting them into reality is creativity. The act of executing the creative ideas into practice is innovation.

for thinking new ideas one must have good imagination, and for executing them into practice one must have great determination and vision.
Creativity and innovation will lead you towards success.

“Doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting different results, is the definition of crazy.”

There is no rocket science involved in being a perfectionist;you will only need to be Creative,Innovative and Punctual.

Graceful is the scenery That I find surrounding me, Within green rolling hills of verdency, I feel cosseted in the breast of nature blissfully. I watched deers dance through trees In an arcane dance, While a fox cautiously watched me from a distance And rabbits bounded finding holes, This is a perfect moment, don’t you […]

Be the one who preserve them not the one who writes the name of the crushes or the one who rather sees  it as a place for hang out and party.

Singapore super series shows Indian badminton is progressing

Sai Praneeth.jpg

Promising Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth clinched his maiden Super Series title at the Singapore Open after defeating compatriot K Srikanth in a historic all-Indian final on Sunday.

World No.30 Praneeth, who had won the Canada Open Grand Prix last year and reached the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold final this year, outmaneuvered Srikanth 17-21, 21-17, 21-12 in the summit clash of the $350,000 event.

“It’s always difficult to play someone with whom you play everyday. I am very happy to win today. The way I played in the tournament, I’m very happy. The support here for the Indians has also been very nice,” an overwhelmed Praneeth said after the 54-minute clash.

It was the first time in the history of international badminton that two Indians were playing a Super Series final and it turned out to be a thrilling contest.

The two trainees of the Gopichand academy exploited every chink that they were aware of in each other’s game.
